Web Design Workflow
Step 1 : Go over Requirements / Goals of the website.
Talk with the you about what content and style of website you want. So an estimate for the work can be made.
Step 2 : Contract.
Once all the requirements are established, a simple contract will be drafted outlining the timeline and costs associated with the project. After the initial consultation Nichol Designs will begin the conceptualizing, designs and creation of the project upon receipt of a retainer.
For project over 40 hours the initial retainer is 25% followed by a second payment of 25% when the project is half way to completion and a third and final payment of the remaing 50% when the project is completed.
For projects under 40 hours but over 4 hours. The initial retainer is 30% and 70% upon completion of the project.
For projects under 4 hours, payment is required upon completion of project.
For ongoing maintainance work and search engine optimizing you "the cleint" are required to make a timely monthly payment.
Step 3 : Gather Information.
Gather all text and images that will be used in the website.
Step 4 : Mock Up.
Initial drawings of the website will be made. Then a computer mock up will be made; positioning of assets, color, and style of fonts etc.
Step 5 : Approval.
Once the design is approved I can begin developing your website.
Step 6 : Build The Website.
I'll take the initial approved mock ups along with all the provided content and create the website. I'll contact you if I had to make any large changes due to usability or design conflict issues.
Step 7 : Testing.
I'll test the website and look for any errors that may have occurred.
Step 8 : Complete Contract.

Step 9 : Upload and Review.
When the website is complete, the website is uploaded to the web host. You'll have chance to review and ask for revisions (outlined in contract) if needed.
